1. Agreement and operator

Connected is operated by ReceiptRoller Inc. (“ReceiptRoller,” “we,” or “us”). By creating an account or using Connected, you agree to these Terms of Service and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you use Connected on behalf of an organization, you are responsible for having authority to do so; that organization may also be bound by these terms.

Connected is intended for professional networking. You must be legally able to agree to these terms and provide accurate account and profile information.

2. Accounts and sign-in

You sign in through a supported external identity provider, such as Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to that provider and your device secure, and for activity under your Connected account. Tell us through the contact form if you believe your account has been compromised.

A person's Connected identity is designed to remain the same when their employer, team, or title changes. You must not impersonate another person or create an account using information you are not authorized to share.

3. How Connected works

Connected lets you maintain a professional profile, display an exchange card, request and accept one-to-one connections, exchange in-app messages, and manage what current work information you share. An exchange link or QR code can be passed to someone else; anyone who has a valid link may see a limited preview of your name. You can rotate your exchange code to invalidate the old link.

Accepting a connection currently makes each person's existing work profile available to the other person. When you later update work details or services, you choose which active connections can see the updated information. You can stop sharing your work details with a connection, or end the connection entirely. Ending a connection stops new messages, but both participants can still see their earlier conversation. A recipient may have independently saved information you shared before a change; Connected cannot erase copies outside the service.

Private notes are visible only to the account that wrote them. Connected does not guarantee that another person's profile is accurate or that a relationship will continue.

4. Acceptable use

Use Connected lawfully and respectfully. Do not:

  • harass, threaten, deceive, or impersonate others;
  • post or share information that you do not have the right to use;
  • scrape profiles, collect exchange codes at scale, send unsolicited bulk messages, or use Connected for spam;
  • attempt to bypass access controls, probe another account, interfere with the service, or introduce malicious code.

We may investigate suspected misuse and limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.

5. Your content and rights

You retain ownership of the information you provide. You give us a limited right to host, process, display, and share it only as needed to operate Connected according to your choices and our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of your content and for respecting other people's information.

The Connected name, design, and software belong to ReceiptRoller Inc. or its licensors. These terms do not grant you rights to copy or redistribute the service itself.

6. Availability and changes to the service

Connected is in an early development phase. Features may change, be unavailable, or be discontinued. We aim to keep the service secure and reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted access or that stored information will always be error-free. We may change the service with reasonable notice when the change materially affects how it works.

7. Ending use and account deletion

You may stop using Connected at any time. The API supports permanent account deletion, and the mobile app will provide an in-app deletion flow before public release. If you cannot access the app, submit a request through our account deletion form. We verify account ownership before processing a manual request. For other privacy questions, use our contact form. We may suspend or close an account for a material breach of these terms, security reasons, or legal requirements, subject to applicable law.

Deletion affects data held by Connected; it cannot remove copies that another person already made outside the service. See the Privacy Policy for how deletion and retention work.

8. Disclaimers and liability

Connected provides tools for sharing information and managing relationships, not a verification of anyone's identity, employment, services, or business claims. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without warranties beyond those expressly stated here. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

9. Governing law and updates to these terms

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, except where mandatory laws in your place of residence provide protections that cannot be waived. Disputes will be handled by courts with jurisdiction under applicable law. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

We may update these terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after the new terms take effect means you accept them, to the extent allowed by law.
